Reds In The News: Ginger Actor Rupert Grint Recovering From Swine Flu

Even immensely popular, redheaded wizards can catch the swine flu...

After having reported on redheaded Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, it was recently revealed that the yound celeb is recovering from a "mild bout" of the H1N1 virus. The news caused a ripple of immediate concern among his legion fans.

The 21-year-old, who plays Harry Potter's best friend Ron Weasley, had to take a few days off filming the latest Potter flick after falling ill. But the ginger hottie is now over his coughing spell and well enough to return to the set of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."

Grint was also able to walk the red carpet in London Tuesday at the world premier of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," the sixth film adaptation in the Potter book line.

"It has just been confirmed that Rupert Grint has taken a few days out of filming due to a mild bout of swine flu," his publicist said in a statement. "He has now recovered and is looking forward to joining his fellow cast members at the junket and premieres this week and will then return to filming directly afterwards."

Grint went back to work after his doctor confirmed the young actor is no longer contagious. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" opens in most of Europe on July 15 and in the U.S. and Japan two days later.

Britain has had four swine flu-related deaths and has 7,500 reported cases - the highest in Europe.
